The site is dated to the late Chalcolithic or Early Bronze Age based
on finds of pottery shards in the northeast entrance (4)
and on lichenometric (5) studies, whereas
the central cairn, containing a significant amount of Late Bronze Age material,
is dated to that later epoch (6).
The central cairn was one focus of the excavations conducted at Rogem
Hiri and was found to postdate the ring constructions. The tomb was
most likely constructed in the Late Bronze Age within the existing Early
Bronze Age rings (7).
